A recast of an ancient coin from the Seleucid Empire, showing Apollo on one face, and an elephant on the reverse. This coin is from my personal collection and has maintained exceptional detail over the last 2200 years. Shipped on an 18" rolo chain.
Please note: This necklace is reversible, but the top of Apollo's head and the top of the elephant are not precisely in line with each other (they are close, though). You can choose whether your pendant is aligned more vertically to Apollo, or to the elephant.
Coin History: Minted between 222-187 BCE during the reign of Antiochos III, a Greek Hellenistic king of the Seleucid Empire. Apollo, the god of the sun, light, truth and prophecy, is crowned in a laurel wreath. On the reverse, an elephant stands.

Gold vermeil pieces are made to order and have a 3-6 week lead time. All gold vermeil sales are final.
Gold vermeil is guaranteed trade quality standard, where .925 sterling silver is electroplated with a thick layer of gold, minimum 2.5 microns. This is significantly thicker than "gold-plated" jewelry, (which are usually made with a nonprecious base metal such as brass).
Eastern Suns uses 14 karat yellow gold for vermeil items.

All orders come with a complimentary polishing cloth. Wear and polish your jewelry often for best results.
All jewelry will develop a patina over time - this is a natural process and can be expedited by high heat, humidity, oils on the skin, and more. Patina can generally removed with a polishing cloth.
Gemstones, especially soft stones such as turquoise, should be removed before swimming or bathing for longevity.
